Volleyball Recap: Pilibos Eagles vs. Milken Wildcats
Pilibos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Milken Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Thursday.
Pilibos took a 1-0 lead headed into the second set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-14, 25-12, 25-19.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milken to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samantha Lerner, who had 22 digs and two aces. Lerner is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Hope Cudiamat, who had 14 digs and three aces.
Pilibos' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Milken, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
Pilibos will be playing in front of their home fans against International School of Los Angeles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Milken, they will welcome Holy Martyrs Armenian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holy Martyrs Armenian is coming into the match with three straight victories on the road, so Milken will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
