Basketball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the Mason City Mohawks 59-21. While losing is never fun, the Railsplitters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Mohawks are ranked 104th).

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Mason City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-35 loss against Newton on the 8th. As for Mason City, they will take on Des Moines East at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mason City is facing Des Moines East at the right time seeing as Des Moines East is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
