Volleyball Recap: Lucy Wright and Lily Hennekes Secure Win for Parkway South

Parkway South won the last time they faced Affton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win. The Patriots not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0).

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Parkway South was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-12, 25-8.

Parkway South was led to victory by Lily Hennekes and Lucy Wright. Hennekes had 11 digs and two aces, while Wright had eight assists and six digs. That's the most digs Wright has posted over her last 12 matches.

They weren't the only good server: Parkway South was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Parkway South's victory bumped their record up to 7-4-2. As for Affton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-5-1.

Parkway South has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Kirkwood on the 22nd. As for Affton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Villa Duchesne on the 22nd.
