Recap: Trinity Christian Tigers vs. Christ Covenant Spartan

The Trinity Christian Tigers waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Christ Covenant at home to the tune of 61-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Trinity Christian has posted since November 2, 2023.

Carter Jordan was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Trinity Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Brentley Lee, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Christ Covenant lost, one person who can't be blamed is JD Dill. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Dill is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Ange, who scored six points along with three steals.

Trinity Christian pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Christ Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian will face off against Faith Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Faith Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Trinity Christian likes a good challenge. As for Christ Covenant, they will head out on the road to face off against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jacksonville Christian Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
