Softball Game Preview: Port Isabel Tarpons vs. Edinburg North Cougars

The Port Isabel Tarpons will take on the Edinburg North Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Isabel has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Port Isabel is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 15-1 to La Feria.

Meanwhile, while Edinburg North put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for La Joya. Edinburg North was the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over La Joya. Considering the Cougars have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Edinburg North's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Port Isabel, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
