Soccer Game Preview: Salmen vs. Slidell

The Salmen Spartans will head out to face off against the Slidell Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Slidell better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Salmen's game on Wednesday is any indication, that's when Salmen really gets things going. The Spartans blew past Landry 5-2. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Salmen considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Slidell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out A.J. Ellender 1-0 on Saturday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Slidell were the better team in the second half.

The victory got Salmen back to even at 1-1. As for Slidell, their record is now 3-4.

Salmen suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Slidell when the teams last played back in November of 2018. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
