Softball Recap: Lawrence County Triumphs

While Lawrence County's win against Brookwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Devils narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Panthers 3-1.

McKinley McCaghren was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alivia Templeton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.

Lawrence County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Brookwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Lawrence County and Brookwood will both be playing Ardmore the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Red Devils will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
