Soccer Game Preview: Herndon vs. Langley

The Herndon Hornets will challenge the Langley Saxons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Herndon will be strutting in after a victory while Langley will be coming in after a loss.

Herndon is headed into the match having not lost since April 24 and will look to keep things rolling. They put the hurt on Lake Braddock with a sharp 4-1 win on Monday. Considering Herndon have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Langley's offense. They fell just short of Washington-Liberty by a score of 1-0 on Friday.

Herndon's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three games. As for Langley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-2 record this season.

Herndon took their victory against Langley when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saxons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
