Preview: Horizon Christian Academy Warriors vs. St. John Bosco Academy
Horizon Christian Academy is 8-1 against St. John Bosco Academy since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Horizon Christian Academy Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John Bosco Academy at 7:45 p.m. Horizon Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
In what's become a running theme this season, Horizon Christian Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 88-40 victory over Fulton Science Academy. With Horizon Christian Academy ahead 56-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Horizon Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Hunter Beenken, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, and Evan Holcombe, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. Beenken hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Johnson, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, St. John Bosco Academy pushed their score all the way to 68 last Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 80-68 to Old Suwanee Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (63), St. John Bosco Academy still had to take the loss.
Horizon Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for St. John Bosco Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Horizon Christian Academy strolled past St. John Bosco Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 76-62. Does Horizon Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. John Bosco Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
