Basketball Game Preview: Como Park Cougars vs. St. Croix Prep Lions

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Como Park Cougars duke it out with the St. Croix Prep Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday... Como Park has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Last Tuesday, Como Park blew past Highland Park, posting a 92-24 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, St. Croix Prep was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They were outmatched by Providence Academy and fell 101-19. While losing is never fun, St. Croix Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Providence Academy is ranked first).

Como Park is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 50.8 points. As for St. Croix Prep, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Everything came up roses for Como Park against St. Croix Prep in their previous meeting back in January of 2015, as the team secured a 79-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Como Park since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
