Softball Recap: Maryville Spoofhounds vs. St. Pius X Warriors

Maryville won the last time they faced St. Pius X, and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the Maryville Spoofhounds' way against the St. Pius X Warriors as the Maryville Spoofhounds made off with an 11-4 victory. That looming 11-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spoofhounds yet this season.

Emma Sprague made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and a triple.

In other batting news, Maryville got a big performance out of Alyssa Cunningham, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Emma Aley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

As for St. Pius X, they will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Odessa at 4:00 p.m. Odessa will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something St. Pius X surely won't give up without a fight.
