Baseball Recap: Thornton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Thornridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thornton). They blew past the Thornridge Falcons 26-14 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

The team relied heavily on Antoine Bishop, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Thornton: the team is 5-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovontae Wade, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Thornton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Thornton's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 7-8-1. As for Thornridge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Thornton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
