Softball Recap: Breese Central Comes Up Short

Breese Central was the 6-4 winner over Marissa/Coulterville when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell 10-5 to the Meteors on Saturday.

Cece Toennies and Taylor Trame did some serious damage despite the final result: Toennies went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Trame went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Breese Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Marissa/Coulterville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Coincidentally, Breese Central and Marissa/Coulterville will both be playing Civic Memorial the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Meteors will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
