Football Recap: Poteet Takes a Loss

Poteet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Karnes City Badgers, falling 35-6. If the Aggies were looking for revenge after losing 27-7 to the Badgers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Israel Soto was a one-man wrecking crew For Karnes City. as he rushed for 228 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Soto's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Savion Nixon-Thompson, who rushed for 145 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Poteet's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Karnes City, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Poteet wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 48-14 defeat against George West on the 12th. As for Karnes City, they have also already played their next game, a 55-28 loss against Kenedy on the 12th.
