Basketball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Mount Calvary Christian Academy came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Coastal Brigade, falling 41-18. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Coastal Brigade this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 31-10 on Friday.

Despite the defeat, Mount Calvary Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Riley Tuten made all 7 shots she took racking up 16 points along with six boards and five steals. That was a full 88.9% of the Warriors' points, marking the fifth time in a row Tuten has posted more than a third of the team's points. Dakota Honeycutt also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first rebound of the season.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Coastal Brigade, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Mount Calvary Christian Academy and Coastal Brigade will both be playing Bethel Assembly Christian Academy the next time they take the court. The Warriors will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Coastal Brigade will host them at 5:30 p.m. on the 25th.
