Recap: Fort Stockton Panthers vs. Andrews Mustangs
The Fort Stockton Panthers lost against the Andrews Mustangs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Fort Stockton was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 26-25 to Andrews. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Stockton in their matchups with Andrews: they've now lost three in a row.
Fort Stockton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Thiaraneth Wislar, who scored five points along with two steals.
Fort Stockton has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season. As for Andrews, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-18 record this season.
Fort Stockton will face off against Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Canyon will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Fort Stockton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Andrews, they will square off against Randall at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Andrews will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 866th, while Randall is ranked 68th).
