Volleyball Recap: McFarland Comes Up Short

McFarland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lake Mills L-Cats. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the L-Cats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Despite the defeat, McFarland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Talia Riemen had 15 digs and one assist.

McFarland's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Lake Mills, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. McFarland will take on Portage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Mills, they will square off against Lodi at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
