Soccer Game Preview: Vance County vs. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability

The Vance County Vipers will head out to face off against the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vance County has four straight wins, Southern School of Energy and Sustainability has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Vance County will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating South Granville, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Vance County walked away with a 3-1 victory over South Granville on Wednesday.

Nicola Thompson and Solana Gardner scored all three of Vance County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Southern School of Energy and Sustainability fell victim to Louisburg and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 9-0.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Vance County, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

Vance County couldn't quite get it done against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Vance County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
