Volleyball Recap: Fontbonne Academy Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Fontbonne Academy's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Malden Catholic Lancers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

While Fontbonne Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22, 25-12.

Emma Jolley paced Fontbonne Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Jolley got some help from Tayla Jiang and her 28 assists. Teresa McNally controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Fontbonne Academy's win ended a nine-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-8. As for Malden Catholic, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Fontbonne Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Notre Dame Academy on the 8th. As for Malden Catholic, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Dedham on the 9th.
