Basketball Recap: Selma Wins Going Away Against Immanuel

Selma won the last time they faced Immanuel and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Selma Bears took down the Immanuel Eagles 65-46. That 19 point margin sets a new team best for the Bears this season.

Despite the defeat, Immanuel saw an underclassman step up: sophomore James Galpin went 5 for 12 on his way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Galpin a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Bennett Cords, who posted ten points and seven boards.

The win made it two in a row for Selma and bumps their season record up to 4-14. As for Immanuel, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

Selma will square off against Kerman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Kerman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Selma likes a good challenge. As for Immanuel, they will be playing at home against Kingsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
