Football Recap: Rubidoux Falcons vs. Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles

Rubidoux unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 32-14 fall against the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Joshua Green, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Ambal really tore up the turf during one magnificent 97-yard run. Jesus Valenzuela was another key player, picking up 85 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Looking ahead, Rubidoux will take on Pacific at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Desert Hot Springs, they will challenge Xavier Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
