Soccer Recap: Southern Wayne Comes Up Short

Southern Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the West Johnston Wildcats, falling 9-0. The Saints were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Southern Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-5. As for West Johnston, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4-1.

Coming up, Southern Wayne will host Hunt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Wayne has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for West Johnston, they will head out on the road to square off against East Wake at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. West Johnston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.
