Basketball Game Preview: Lamar Warriors vs. Harding Academy Wildcats

The Lamar Warriors will challenge the Harding Academy Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Lamar sitting on 20 straight wins and Harding Academy on three.

Lamar is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They strolled past Fouke with points to spare, taking the game 49-33.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Harding Academy took on Manila on Friday. Harding Academy came out on top against Manila by a score of 58-49.

Harding Academy's win came from a few key players Lamar will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emery Wilson, who posted 17 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Citty, who had 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Harding Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 32-2. As for Harding Academy, their win bumped their record up to 26-3.

Lamar barely slipped by Harding Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2020, winning 53-52. Will Lamar repeat their success, or does Harding Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
