Softball Game Preview: Riverside Pirates vs. Bellefontaine Chieftains

The Riverside Pirates will challenge the Bellefontaine Chieftains at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside will be strutting in after a win while Bellefontaine will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Riverside was able to grind out a solid victory over North Union, taking the game 11-7.

The team relied heavily on Miah Carman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Emilee Robinson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Carman wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Riverside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bellefontaine didn't have quite enough to beat Covington on Monday and fell 8-6.

Joy Fogan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bellefontaine now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Riverside, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Bellefontaine's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Bellefontaine, though, as they've been averaging 12 hits. Given Riverside's sizable advantage in that area, Bellefontaine will need to find a way to close that gap.
