Batesburg-Leesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ninety Six Wildcats. One positive for the Panthers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Ninety Six's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janiyah Squire led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Squire has scored at least a third of Ninety Six's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenley Collins, who went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points.

Batesburg-Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Ninety Six, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4.

Batesburg-Leesville will challenge Pelion at 6:15 p.m. on January 24th. As for Ninety Six, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ninety Six Wildcats challenge the Saluda Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
