Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perryton). They skirted past the Borger Bulldogs 65-63. The Rangers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Despite the loss, Borger still got an impressive performance from Tahqulin Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 22 rebounds. That was a full 41.3% of Borger's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Contreras, who earned 14 points.

Perryton's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Borger, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Perryton and Borger could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Perryton (ranked 981st) will meet Randall (ranked 54th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Borger (ranked 1267th) will meet West Plains (ranked 331st) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
