Basketball Recap: Grand Prairie Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Grand Prairie won the last time they faced Sam Houston and things went their way on Saturday too. The Grand Prairie Gophers strolled past the Sam Houston Texans with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. Given the Gophers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Texans are ranked 540th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grand Prairie now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Sam Houston, they dropped their record down to 8-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Grand Prairie will take on Arlington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sam Houston, they are taking a road trip to take on Martin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
