Basketball Game Preview: Kokomo Wildkats vs. Anderson Indians

The Kokomo Wildkats will head out on the road to challenge the Anderson Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Friday, Kokomo didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Richmond, but they still walked away with a 96-90 victory. The Wildkats pushed the score to 84-59 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Korbyn Hammel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9-for-13 on his way to 28 points along with seven assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Bellamy, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 20 points.

Meanwhile, Anderson took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 86-52 win over Indianapolis Shortridge. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Anderson's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Kokomo, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.

Kokomo was able to grind out a solid victory over Anderson when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 62-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kokomo since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
