Basketball Recap: More Takes a Loss

If More was riding high fresh off their 81-61 takedown of The Nueva School last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The More Knights had to suffer through a 71-44 loss at the hands of the Summit Shasta Black Bears. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-17.

More lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Anthony Selway, who posted ten points and six boards. That's the most rebounds Selway has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sean Selway, who earned four points in addition to ten boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, More smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.

More's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Summit Shasta, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

More will square off against Eastside College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. More is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season. Summit Shasta has already played their next game (against The Nueva School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
