KINGSPORT, Tenn. - In spite of trailing
Science Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) 15 points,
Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, Tenn.) surged back to grab a 37-34 win over
Science Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) Saturday.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown, the Hilltoppers went into halftime with a 27-19 lead. The Indians took the lead for good with a field goal by
Chad Diminick in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Dobyns-Bennett still trailed by 15 points going into the fourth quarter. But 18 points in the fourth helped DB pull out the victory.
The Kingsport school's most effective player was
Malik Foreman. The senior wide receiver ran for three touchdowns.
Science Hill came in allowing just 17.9 points per game this season.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Indians came away with a 47-14 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Science Hill, which notched a 76-48 victory over Tennessee in its previous outing.
