Soccer Game Preview: Whittier vs. El Rancho

Whittier is 1-9 against El Rancho since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Whittier Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the El Rancho Dons at 5:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Whittier is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Monday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of California. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Cardinals couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, El Rancho fought the good fight in their overtime match against Santa Fe on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chiefs by a score of 2-1.

Whittier's loss dropped their record down to 1-14-1. As for El Rancho, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1-2 and their overall record down to 11-8-2.
