Baseball Recap: Quincy Takes a Loss

Quincy extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 4-4. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bronson Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 on Tuesday.

As for Bronson, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Six seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Bronson's part, Max Byler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Byler was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Byler wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Sikorski, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Sikorski has brought in this season.

Looking ahead, Quincy will head out on the road to square off against Homer at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bronson, they will host Fremont at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.43 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
