Chatfield had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Plainview-Elgin-Millville on Friday. The Gophers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering the Gophers have won five games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
