Soccer Game Preview: Neuse Charter vs. Voyager Academy

The Neuse Charter Cougars will head out to face off against the Voyager Academy Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neuse Charter's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Neuse Charter faced off against Triangle Math & Science on Wednesday. The Cougars lost 4-0 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, Neuse Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 516th, while Triangle Math & Science are ranked 226th).

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Voyager Academy and Research Triangle had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Vikings fell just short of the Raptors by a score of 4-3 on Monday. Voyager Academy fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Research Triangle since Monday.

Neuse Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Voyager Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6-1.

Neuse Charter suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Voyager Academy in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
