Sandhills Classical Christian had won two straight home games and Lyla Hainley did her part to make it three on Monday. The Lions walked away with a 3-1 win over the Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders thanks in part to Hainley, who had 16 aces and five digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.6 aces per game.

Sandhills Classical Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-15, 25-17, 25-22.

Sandhills Classical Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jersi Olsen, who had ten kills and eight digs. That's the most kills Olsen has posted since back in August. Ayla Roberto was another key player, getting nine kills and six blocks.

Sandhills Classical Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Christ the Cornerstone Academy, they moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Christ the Cornerstone Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Mintz Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
