Mariner is 9-1 against Cape Coral since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Tritons will head out to challenge the Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mariner is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 11-5 to Riverview Sarasota. The Tritons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mariner saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Gorra, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Ryan Kotarski, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cape Coral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ida Baker.

Derek Hooker was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Cape Coral's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 1-12 when he doesn't). Ryan Marks was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Cape Coral's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Mariner, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Everything went Mariner's way against Cape Coral when the teams last played back in February, as Mariner made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tritons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
