Basketball Recap: Mancos Bluejays vs. Nucla Mustangs
Mancos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Nucla Mustangs, falling 63-35. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-32 back in January.

Mancos lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Michael Resner, who posted 15 points. The dominant performance gave Resner a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Spencer Eschallier, who scored 13 points.
Brycen Rummel was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 assists for Nucla. The contest was Rummel's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Holten McCluer, who went 8 for 12 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds.
Mancos' defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Nucla, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Mancos didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-25 loss against Ridgway on the 1st. As for Nucla, they will head out on the road to take on Telluride at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th.
