Basketball Recap: West Salem's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, West Salem couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Edgewood Crusaders on Saturday, falling 67-42. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Crusaders are ranked ninth).

The defeat snapped West Salem's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 21-5 record. As for Edgewood, the victory was the 26th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-1.

Coming up, West Salem will face off against Wauwatosa East on Friday. Wauwatosa East will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something West Salem surely won't give up without a fight. Edgewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
