East Central extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Lafayette. They blew past the Commodores 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 16 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Abby Danis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Abbie Huff was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Valerie Merrill was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

East Central is on a roll lately: they've won 23 of their last 26 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lafayette, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Central beat the Commodores by a score of 10-6 on Wednesday.
