Softball Recap: San Marcos Comes Up Short

San Marcos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Saugus Centurions, falling 10-2. If the Royals were looking for revenge after losing 9-4 to the Centurions when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

San Marcos saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isa Malarkey, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

San Marcos' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Saugus, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-4.

San Marcos wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-0 loss against Burroughs on the 5th. As for Saugus, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-3 victory against Dos Pueblos on the 5th.
