Carver has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Thomasville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. One thing working in Carver's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Carver gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Crisp County 70-18 at home. Given Carver's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Cougars are ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kayden Cooper went supernova for Carver, scoring 17 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmin Thornton, who scored 15 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Thomasville was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 36-35 to the Blue Devils.
Carver's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Thomasville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
Everything came up roses for Carver against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 98-37 victory. With Carver ahead 58-28 at the half, the match was all but over already.
