Baseball Game Preview: Oceanside Mariners vs. Winslow Black Raiders

Oceanside has gone a perfect 10-0 against Winslow recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Mariners will host the Black Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Winslow took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Oceanside, who comes in off a win.

Oceanside took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Lincoln Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mariners sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Eagles on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mariners.

Parker Darge was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dom Frisone, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Winslow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Belfast, falling 7-0.

Oceanside's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Winslow, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Oceanside beat Winslow 6-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Mariners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
