Baseball Recap: Western Pioneers vs. Whitney Wildcats
Western extended their losing streak to 20 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-22 in the process. They lost 14-2 to the Whitney Wildcats. The Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 17-4.
As for Whitney, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 1st (when they won 19-0).
For Whitney's part, Jacob Nunag was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Nunag has posted since back in February. Camron Raufdeen was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Coming up, Western will face off against Sage Hill at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Whitney, they will head out on the road to take on San Gabriel at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
