Kirby Prep's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They took down the Ceiba College Preparatory Academy Spartans 58-40. The Griffins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Kirby Prep to victory were Rain Li and Chris Lively. Li posted 19 points and eight boards, while Lively had 18 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lively a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cameron Jacobs, who put up six points and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Ceiba College Preparatory Academy lost, don't look at Anthony Toriz. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with five boards and three steals. Toriz's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcos Arellano, who earned nine points.

Kirby Prep moved to 2-9 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak. As for Ceiba College Preparatory Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
