Softball Recap: Monmouth Regional Has No Trouble Against Long Branch

Monmouth Regional never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Long Branch Green Wave with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Monmouth Regional has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Long Branch, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monmouth Regional will head out to face off against Ocean Township at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Long Branch, they will square off against Rumson-Fair Haven at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
