There's no place like home for Gretna, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Dan River Wildcats on Monday. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 6-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Alyssa Keesee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Makayla Morris was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kinsley Rigsby, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Dan River, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
