Williamsburg is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Corbin a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. On Friday, Williamsburg came up short against Barbourville and fell 15-10. Even if the Yellow Jackets couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Kelly Wells was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Jones, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Corbin made easy work of Estill County on Saturday and carried off a 10-2 win. With that victory, the Redhounds brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Corbin also got a great performance from Will Freeman as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Freeman a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Kade Elam and Cam Estep did most of the damage at the plate: Elam went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Estep got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Estep is becoming a predictor of Corbin's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-2 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Trey Person was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Corbin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Estill County only posted a batting average of .250.

Williamsburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Corbin, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Williamsburg might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Corbin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
