Baseball Recap: Canyon Del Oro Comes Up Short on the Road Against Sunnyslope

Canyon del Oro kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Sunnyslope Vikings by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Dorados have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Regen Mazura was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Canyon del Oro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Hoyler, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon del Oro will be taking part in a tournament against Hamilton at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Canyon del Oro has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Sunnyslope, they will take on Horizon in a tournament on Thursday.
