Chatham is 9-1 against Altavista since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will take on the Colonels at 5:30 p.m. Chatham's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Altavista's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Wednesday, Chatham came up short against Dan River and fell 8-5. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chatham saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Corra Liggon, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jasmine Smoot was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Altavista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Lunenburg Central, falling 10-2.

Chatham's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-7. As for Altavista, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Chatham took their victory against Altavista in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
