Baseball Recap: Marysville Getchell Takes a Loss

Marysville Getchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bellingham Bayhawks.

Cooper Agen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Johnson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Marysville Getchell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Bellingham, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marysville Getchell will face off against Mariner at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bellingham, they will take on Lakewood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
